Competitions
Lagos is the birthplace of Beach Soccer in Nigeria. The journey began with the country's first Beach Soccer event at the former Kuramo Beach, now part of the newly developed Eko Atlantic City.
Between 2009 and 2011, Lagos hosted a series of promotional events at locations like Badagry, Ibeju-Lekki, Ojo, and the old Bar Beach, setting the stage for COPA LAGOS, an international tournament that ran successfully from 2012 to 2019.
Since then, the LSFA and various private entities have continued to organize activities aimed at spreading the Beach Soccer message.
However, more support and consistency are needed to further popularize the sport across Lagos. The city's expansive coastline offers abundant natural spaces for Beach Soccer, which can be set up wherever convenient, much like Switzerland, which, despite having no beaches, has made a significant impact in Beach Soccer.
To promote the sport further, all local governments in Lagos will be involved in competitions through their respective divisional football associations, driving our mission to popularize Beach Soccer across the state.
